About the Program
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service to America) is a national service program designed to assist organizations and communities in the alleviation of poverty. Since its inception, the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty has included VISTA members in almost every aspect of our work. The Baylor Collaborative's VISTA alumni have gone on to serve in roles with non-profits, government agencies, faith-based organizations, and in the private sector, using their experience to bring a unique perspective into their various fields. Many VISTA members transitioned into a full-time staff position at the Baylor Collaborative.
The VISTA program is ideal for recent college graduates, retirees, and mid-career professionals looking to devote a year of their lives in volunteer service to their communities.
Benefits
AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance (based on service location), relocation travel allowance, end-of-service education awards, among other benefits.
