Dr. Juan Alejandro

Dr. Juan Alejandro, Jr. joined Baylor University in June 1994 as Director of Internal Audit and Management Analysis. He previously served as Director of Internal Audit at the University of Iowa and University of Texas at San Antonio.
In June 2018, Juan retired from Baylor as Vice President of Governance and Risk. While at Baylor, he had oversight responsibility for various departments and activities, including Internal Audit & Management Analysis, Risk Management, Protection of Minors Program, conflicts of interest processes, and the anonymous reporting system (EthicsPoint). In addition, he assisted with the monitoring of Board and University policies and procedures.
Juan also served as an adjunct professor in the Hankamer School of Business where he taught auditing and assurance services and business and professional ethics for accountants.
He received his doctorate in Educational Administration from Baylor in 2000. From Texas State University, he received a BBA (1979) with a concentration in accounting and an MBA (1981). He is a Certified Public Accountant.
He and his wife, Sherry, also a Baylor graduate (BA ’10), have two daughters, Angela (MSEd '09) and Sarah (BSEd '13).
