Kayelee Arensman
Graduate Assistant
Kayelee coordinates staff efforts for the Save the Children - Rural Child Innovations Lab. She is responsible for collecting data relating to grant recipients, managing meetings between Save the Children staff, Baylor staff, and grantees, and organizing the development of the end-of-grant evaluation. In her free time, she aids other Baylor Collaborative staff in assignments related to policy and education.
A current seminary student at Truett, Kayelee previously received her Bachelors and Master of Social Work at Baylor's Garland School of Social Work in 2021, receiving her social work license shortly thereafter. Kayelee's heart for creating safe spaces for the marginalized has led her to serve survivors of human trafficking, the unhoused, people with disabilities, and diverse communities of faith. In every opportunity, Kayelee saw how food insecurity impacted the daily lives of those she served and noticed how, frequently, the hunger was a biproduct of poverty rather than the main source of struggle.
Scalable solutions to end hunger are attainable, yet they require education, awareness, policy change, and civic responsibility. Kayelee is passionate about bringing this challenge to the forefront of the Waco community and beyond as she serves at the Baylor Collaborative. With her seminary and social work background, Kayelee's skills of integrating faith and civic life guide her as she seeks to be part of the change that reflects the coming kingdom of God.
