Katie Nye

  • Director, Hunger Free Community Accelerator

Katie Nye is the Director of the Hunger Free Community Accelerator at the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty. Since 2013, she has led efforts to help communities across the U.S. form and sustain Hunger Free Community Coalitions, strengthening local systems to increase food security. She co-led the design and launch of the Hunger Free Community Coalition Online Course, the first of its kind in the hunger education field. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining BCHP, she worked as a high school social worker and as Director of Operations for a statewide education nonprofit.
