Hunger Free Community Coalitions

A Hunger Free Community Coalition (HFCC) is a diverse group of organizations and individuals taking action together to end hunger in their community. HFCC’s strategically assess the structure and procedures of local food delivery systems, identify resources and gaps, make decisions for change, and implement action plans to ensure that more people have access to healthy and nutritious food.

AmeriCorps VISTA

A VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) is a full-time AmeriCorps member dedicated to combating poverty by building the capacity of non-profit organizations and public agencies. Our VISTA program focuses on finding hunger solutions through a community-based model, where VISTAs tailor strategies to address hunger based on the specific needs of the communities they serve.

Hunger Free Communities Certificate Course

More than an educational opportunity, the Hunger Free Communities Certificate Course is a call to action. It is designed to equip community members, organizations, and coalitions with the tools necessary to develop sustainable solutions to food insecurity, honoring the dignity of every person.

Hunger Free Communities Two-Year Intensive

The Hunger Free Communities Two-Year Intensive is a two-year, six-element training program for groups seeking to build a Hunger Free Community Coalition. It guides participants through forming a Community Leadership Council, includes completion of the Hunger Free Communities Certificate Course, as well as other immersive learning opportunities.
