Mackenzie Brewer, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Sociology, Baylor University

Dr. Mackenzie Brewer is an assistant professor of Sociology at Baylor University. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Baylor University in 2011 and received her Ph.D. from Rice University in 2018. She is currently conducting research related to household debt and food security, as well as parental employment and child sleep outcomes. As part of a recent grant, she is also working on a series of projects to identify which household and community characteristics shaped health and economic outcomes during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of Dr. Brewer's research is to better understand the individual, household and community-level factors that promote (or hinder) well-being among individuals and families in the United States.
